I’m Lizz. I’m an experienced Early Years teacher and Forest School Leader. My Nursery is closed and I’d like to use my experience and knowledge to support families who have children at home.
I am sharing some ideas you can do with your children: outside and inside. I’m adapting some activities so they can be done indoors with limited resources. The activities are aimed at 3-5 year olds but can be used with older children too. Most activities are open ended and can be extended and repeated.
Please get involved ( grown ups need to play too!) and support and encourage your children. These are challenging times but stay positive and make the most of this precious time with your children. My Wood Sprite page also has lots of my wildlife photography and writing about the natural environment.
Below are nine weeks worth of fun activities to share with your children at home. I hope that you enjoy them.
The Yellow Submarine Song:
It’s music time! My friends, Rosie and Midge Mullin, who run Substance and Shadow Theatre Company have very kindly recorded ‘Yellow Submarine’ for me to link with our yellow theme this week. It’s a brilliant version and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Please sing along with the chorus. The Beatles released ‘Yellow Submarine in 1966 but I prefer Melvin & Shirley’s version!
